We Hike to Heal – Bamboo Forest, Atlanta, GA, FREE Women’s Group Hike
The East Palisades Trail and Bamboo forest is a 4 mile loop trail less than a 30 minute drive from downtown Atlanta. Some parts are moderately challenging – but most of the trail is easy. The 4 mile loop that features hiking through the forest, over creeks, along portions of the Chattahoochee River, and ending in a beautiful bamboo forest!
We welcome all fitness levels to join us; the goal is to enjoy the journey, we are never in a race! We’ll plan to take several breaks, enjoy the views, and do a little gratitude journaling!

Parking: $5 parking fee or included in Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area Pass (we encourage carpooling or public transportation)
Difficulty level/Distance: Moderate
Restroom Facilities: There are no bathroom facilities
What you will need for this hike:
- Plenty of water to drink! (we recommend at least 1-3 liters)
- Comfortable hiking shoes/boots or trail sneakers
- Comfortable moisture wicking clothing – workout clothes work just fine!
- A daypack/backpack to carry all your items
- A towel to sit on if you’re uncomfortable sitting on the ground
- Your journal and a pen
