DESCRIPTION:Join Asheville-area We Hike to Heal Ambassador\, Kelly Bruce\, for a FREE Women’s Mindful Hike through Pink Beds in Pisgah National Forest.\n\n\nOur mission at We Hike to Heal is to build an inclusive community that normalizes self care\, creates a sacred space for healing and adventure\, and prioritizes the mental and emotional wellbeing of all women. Because we believe that when women thrive\, the world thrives. \nThis is the third event of 2026 in a series of FREE mindful hikes for women. The hikes will increase in mileage and elevation throughout the summer. Come to one hike or join us for all! We welcome all fitness levels. Our goal is to enjoy the journey. \nThis hike features the Pink Beds Loop in Pisgah National Forest. We’ll hike\, stop for a guided meditation\, hike a bit more\, then pause for some mindful moments and journaling by the creek before returning to the trailhead. \nThis loop trail is rated as beginner\, 3.2 miles round trip with 337 feet of elevation change. \nNOTE: there are a couple inclines/declines throughout this trail. While the grade is relatively gentle\, there’s an abundance of exposed roots resulting in technical footing. Hiking poles are advised if balance or ankle mobility is a concern. If you suffer from any pain\, injuries\, or illness\, please consult with your physician and listen to your body to decide if you should join this hike. We’ll begin our hike promptly at 9am. Please be punctual and give yourself an extra 15 minutes to navigate the mountain roads\, use the restrooms\, and check in. \nLocation/Directions: Pink Beds Picnic Area\, Pisgah National ForestLocated off of U.S. 276 approximately 10 miles north of the Pisgah Ranger Station and Visitor Center (next to the Cradle of Forestry in America). The trailhead is approximately one hour from Asheville\, NC; one hour and 40 minutes from Greenville\, SC. Please arrive early and carpool if possible. \nDifficulty level/Distance: 3.2 miles on a beginner\, loop trail (337 feet of elevation gain). While the grade is relatively gentle\, there’s an abundance of exposed roots resulting in technical footing. There are roots\, rocks\, some uneven ground\, and so hiking boots or sneakers with high traction are a must. \nWe’ll be meeting at the main parking lot East Boston Camps which is off of Depot Street (you will see railroad tracks briefly ; there is a rocky/bumpy road that leads you to ample\, free parking). We are starting bright and early to maximize parking\, privacy on the trail\, and to great the weekend with gratitude!
