Again\, sneakers are not very reliable for grip in the winter\, so please bring boots with good grip! While this is not a long hike\, it’s always good to be safe in winter conditions\nComfortable AND warm layers: you will get a good sweat while walking so you may want to add/remove some layers throughout the walk\, but when we sit and journal you’ll likely be colder. Think: layers layers layers!\nThick winter socks (I know it’s late March\, but better to be on the safe side!)\nHats\, gloves\, handwarmers\, and anything else that you like to wear in winter\nA daypack/backpack to carry all your items\n\n… \nPlease review the liability waiver here and be prepared to acknowledge and accept at sign in for your event. \n… \nThis event is for women identified folks 18 and older only.

SUMMARY:Women Who Explore: Illinois- We Hike to Heal at Lake Arlington (Arlington Heights\, IL)
DESCRIPTION:Please register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wwe-il-we-hike-to-heal-at-lake-arlington-tickets-1266847227159?aff=oddtdtcreator \nJoin Women Who Explore: IL and He Hike to Heal for a short and easy hike of ~2 miles at Lake Arlington in Arlington Heights\, followed by a time for journaling and connecting with nature. Going around the lake again afterwards will be optional for those that want to do it again\, for a total mileage of around 4 miles. There will be incorporation of #wehiketoheal mindfulness activities (pausing for journaling\, reflection\, and self-led meditation) and a discussion at the end of hike. Please see below for more information about We Hike to Heal and Outdoor Journal Tour. \nThis trail is completely paved and mostly flat. We will be walking leisurely at a slower pace. Unfortunately\, NO dogs are allowed as the trail is part of the Arlington Heights Park District. We will meet in front of the Boat House (main building from parking lot). Parking is free. \nThe mission of #wehiketoheal is simple – to encourage women all over the world to tap into the healing and empowering influences within ourselves\, our communities and the Great Outdoors. \n#wehiketoheal stands for Women Everywhere Hike(ing) to Heal – but it is also a play on words – “WE” also standing for we\, as in humankind everywhere. Many people hike to help manage anxiety\, depression\, stress\, grief\, sadness\, confusion\, oppression\, or perhaps for more connectedness\, for fitness\, or just to feel alive. Everyone’s reason is very personal and at the end of the day – we just want to make space for folks to enjoy mother nature and feel at one with themselves. It’s important to note that “healing” doesn’t imply that we are broken; it simply implies that there are many different streams to our wholeness. \nFor more information\, check out the their home page and their #wehiketoheal page. You can sign up to participate all month long and to log your mindful minutes. \nOutdoor Journal Tour Information \nWe Hike to Heal 2023 Info \nAddress: 2201 N.
