Pam's Session:
Listening to Flora and Fauna
ABOUT THE SESSION
While spending time in nature, the flora and fauna not only talk to each other, but if you listen closely, they speak to you as well. Nature is trying to pass messages, learn how to listen to them.
ABOUT PAM
Pam is the founder and manager of Southern Queer Folk Hikes in Middle Georgia. When I found how much hiking and spending time in nature helped my mental health, I wanted to pass that on to others, especially those in similar situations – veterans, those with PTSD and other mental health issues, and those that are treatment resistant to medications. The group has become a safe space for those that are underrepresented on the trails and I work with community organizations to break down the barriers to access the outdoors that our BIPOC communities often face. I also love kayaking, swimming, and spending time with my dog and 2 cats while watching Great British Bake Off.
Stacy's Session:
Intro into Trail Running
ABOUT THE SESSION
Intro into trail running: If you’re a seasoned trail runner, never run trail, or are road warrior looking to try trail running come join us for an easy 5k. We will discuss considerations when going trail running for the first or 100th time, followed by a 4-5k jog or 30minute jog depending on our terrain. We will come back to stretch, discuss how it went, and then hydrate!
