Sisterhood of the Traveling Orange Chair

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Orange Chair is a women’s hiking group that was formed in August 2024 when 11 hearty souls hiked to the summit of Wheeler Peak (13,061ft) in Great Basin National Park carrying a vintage orange chair with them…just because they could! This chair symbolizes the adventurous spirit within us and the outdoor adventures that await us. All women are invited to join our next hike to Inspiration Point in the Snake Range near Baker, NV. It is a moderate 5 mile round trip hike. We will meet at 9am at the Bristlecone General Store (115 S Baker Ave, Baker, NV)   If you’re coming from the west, you can meet us at Sacramento Pass Recreation Area off Route 50. We’ll all park there and then carpool to the trailhead. Bring plenty of water, trail snacks and a friend! The Sisterhood and the Orange Chair can’t wait to meet you!
