We Hike to Heal Group Hike for Women with Marie
Marie is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy guide who fell in love with We Hike To Heal when she first heard about them a few years ago because she deeply connects with their vision and mission to create a sacred and inclusive community for women all over the world that normalizes self care, healing, and adventure. Because when women thrive, the whole world thrives. And her admiration for their mission only deepened when she took part in their #wehiketoheal challenge last year.
May is mental health awareness month and each May, We Hike To Heal hosts a month long challenge to celebrate the healing powers of nature. This is a 4 week virtual campaign focused around their Nature Meditations Deck. Each week of the month of May, participants receive mindfulness tools, guided meditations, weekly outdoor challenges, and other resources. Participants will also have the opprotunity to join group hikes all over the country led by #wehiketoheal community partners.

Join Marie at Sharon Woods for a moderate hike, an opportunity to connect with other women, moments of mindfulness, and time to connect with yourself and nature. This event is all about encouraging women to tap into the healing power in ourselves, in community, and in nature. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just starting out, this event is perfect for anyone craving connection, time to slow down, and/or looking to unwind and recharge in the great outdoors. Hike Details:
When: Saturday, May 25th 10am-12pm
Where: Sharon Woods Metro Park
Specific Meeting Spot: Apple Ridge Picnic Area. When driving into the park, take the first right and drive all the way to where it dead ends into a parking lot. Meet at the picnic tables. Parking is free.
Trail: Approximately 3.5-4 miles of moderate trail with a few inclines. Parts of the trail are paved and parts are dirt/gravel.
What: This event will be a combination of hiking, meditating, and journaling. The general plan is to hike about half of the trail, stop for some journaling, finish the trail, then do some meditation. This will all be through guided invitations, but you are always welcome to do your own version. This hike is for your healing.
Restrooms: There are multiple park restrooms along this hike, at the beginning, middle, and end.
What to bring: Water, anything you’d like for sun protection or weather related concerns – layers, sunscreen, hats, etc. Also a journal for the journaling section of this hike.
