We Hike to Heal – Macon, GA FREE Women’s Group Hike

We’ll be hiking at Ocmulgee Mounds Hisorical National Park which is a 2.5-3 mile trail just one mile from Downtown Macon and 85 miles southeast of Downtown Atlanta. This is an easy to moderate hike with beautiful views of the mounds and the surrounding ecosystem. We welcome all fitness levels to join us; the goal is to enjoy the journey, we are never in a race!

About midway through the hike, we’ll plan to take a break to catch our breath, enjoy the view and do a little gratitude journaling!

Difficulty level/Distance: (EASY/MODERATE)/(2.5-3 miles, this will be determned by the condition of the trails and those that attend)

Restroom Facilities: There are restrooms in the visitors center

What you will need for this hike:

• Plenty of water to drink! (we recommend at least 1-3 liters)
• Sunblock and/or hat to protect you from the sun
• Tick repellant
• Comfortable hiking shoes/boots or trail sneakers
• Comfortable moisture wicking clothing – workout clothes work just fine!
• A daypack/backpack to carry all your items
• A towel to sit on if you’re uncomfortable sitting on the ground
• Your journal and a pen
