We Hike to Heal – Providence Canyon State Park, GA, FREE Women’s Group Hike

Providence Cayon State Park is located in Southwest Georgia which is about 148 miles (or 2.5 hours) SW of Atlanta.

We’ll be hiking the Canyon Loop Trail (2.2 miles) & the Providence Canyon trail (1.8 miles) at Providence Canyon State Park in Lumpkin, GA. These trails total about 4 miles, the first is rated as an Easy level trail, the second is rated as a Moderate level trail. This WH2H hike will focus on the Easy trail, with the option of continuing our adventure for the second portion, or parting ways there.

This is a unique Georgia hike with beautiful views at the top & the bottom. We welcome all fitness levels to join us; the goal is to enjoy the journey, we are never in a race!

We’ll plan to take several breaks to catch our breath, enjoy the view and do a little gratitude journaling!

Parking: $5 parking fee or included in GA State Parks Pass (we encourage carpooling or public transportation)

Difficulty level/Distance: EASY – 2.2 & MODERATE – 1.8

Restroom Facilities: BATHROOMS available at the visitors center

What you will need for this hike:

• Plenty of water to drink! (we recommend at least 1-3 liters)
• Sunblock and/or hat to protect you from the sun
• Comfortable hiking shoes/boots or trail sneakers
• Comfortable moisture wicking clothing – workout clothes work just fine!
• A daypack/backpack to carry all your items
• A towel to sit on if you’re uncomfortable sitting on the ground
• Your journal and a pen
