Time: meet at parking lot at 11:00am. Please be punctual! I’ll have a We Hike to Heal Banner, pink clipboard nad blue hiking backpack. We will leave for the trailhead promptly by 11:15.

Location/Directions: See parking link below. The Fells is accessible by public transportation. There are three bus routes that connect with the park, and the Oak Grove T stop on the Orange Line is a 15 minute walk from the Fells. Click this site for more info.

GPS parking lot link: click here. Make sure your directions are for “150 Pond St, Stoneham MA.” It’s a big lot but I always recommend getting there early on weekends!

***ALL TRAILS LINK: click here to see the trail, read information, see pictures, etc. The AllTrails app says 1.8 miles and will take us just under 1 hour of slow walking to complete the loop 🙂 *** Please know the event duration will be longer than 1 hour to factor in journaling and some mindful conversation.

Parking: free. We encourage carpooling or public transportation as appropriate.

Difficulty level/Distance: Easy. No hiking experience needed. Since it is an unpredictable time of year for conditions and could be snowy/slippery/muddy, hiking boots or shoes with traction are a must! Please don’t wear sneakers!

Restroom Facilities: No bathrooms. There are nearby gas stations.

WHAT TO BRING FOR THIS HIKE:

  • Your journal and a writing tool
  • A towel or waterproof mat to sit on if you’re uncomfortable sitting on the ground; we will be sitting for 15-30 minutes at a time for our group connection time
  • Water to drink!
  • Warm coffee/tea to drink if you want a warm treat on the walk
  • Sunblock and/or hat to protect you from the sun (recommended even in winter!)
  • Comfortable hiking shoes/boots; I recommend hiking boots with strong tread and, if icy or snowy, microspikes (available at most outdoor stores or online). Again, sneakers are not very reliable for grip in the winter, so please bring boots with good grip! While this is not a long hike, it’s always good to be safe in winter conditions
  • Comfortable AND warm layers: you will get a good sweat while walking so you may want to add/remove some layers throughout the walk, but when we sit and journal you’ll likely be colder. Think: layers layers layers!
  • Thick winter socks (I know it’s late March, but better to be on the safe side!)
  • Hats, gloves, handwarmers, and anything else that you like to wear in winter
  • A daypack/backpack to carry all your items

Please review the liability waiver here and be prepared to acknowledge and accept at sign in for your event.

This event is for women identified folks 18 and older only.
