We Hike to Heal – Thomaston, GA FREE Women’s Group Hike

We’ll be hiking at Sprewell Bluff Park which is just 56 miles west of Macon and 70 mile south of Atlanta. This is a moderate hike with beautiful views at the top. We welcome all fitness levels to join us; the goal is to enjoy the journey, we are never in a race!

Once we reach the Summit, we’ll plan to take a break to catch our breath, enjoy the view and do a little gratitude journaling!

While not explicitly prohibited, we recommend not bringing children or dogs so that you can focus on yourself.

Parking: When you arrive at the park, you will see a pay booth ahead and a trading post to the left. Parking is $10, if the pay booth is not manned, you can can pay at the trading post. There is also a kiosk where we will be meeting. Once you go past the pay booth, go all the way down the hill and the road puts you out a dirt parking area by the river and that is where we will meet. (we encourage carpooling or public transportation)

Difficulty level/Distance: Moderate/1.5 miles

Restroom Facilities: There are restrooms near the pay booth at the park entrance but not near the trailhead.

What you will need for this hike:

• Plenty of water to drink! (we recommend at least 1-3 liters)
• Sunblock and/or hat to protect you from the sun
• Comfortable hiking shoes/boots or trail sneakers
• Comfortable moisture wicking clothing – workout clothes work just fine!
• Tick preventative, I have some spray I can share
• A daypack/backpack to carry all your items
• A towel to sit on if you’re uncomfortable sitting on the ground
• Your journal and a pen
